Eastside Earthworks & Contracting is a locally owned and operated company providing expert earthmoving and excavation services throughout the Northeast Victoria & Albury/Wodonga region.

We specialise in access roads, site slabs, trenching and detailed earthworks for a variety of clients, including residential, commercial and government sectors.     Jindera Solar Farm Project: Delivering Success Under Challenging Conditions

    Our Jindera Solar Farm project faced unique challenges due to tight deadlines and limited availability of resources during the Easter holiday period. The project required meticulous planning, coordination and resource management to ensure testing could proceed without interruptions, all while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.

    The Challenge

    Our Jindera Solar Farm project took place over the Easter public holiday, with tight deadlines and limited availability of operators. Lumico Solar required load testing to determine if the soil could support the columns needed for the solar installation. The client faced significant constraints due to the holiday period, making it challenging to source the necessary operators and equipment within a very short timeframe, while also meeting strict quality and safety standards.

    The Solution

    Despite the challenges, we sourced and floated a 20-tonne excavator to the Jindera Solar Farm site, ensuring that load testing could proceed smoothly over the seven-day period. We managed every logistical aspect, from arranging transport to coordinating schedules, including finding an additional operator when extended working hours were needed. This proactive approach ensured all work continued without delay, providing Lumico Solar with the support required to achieve their project objectives.

    The Result

    The project was completed on time and met all of the client’s requirements, showcasing our ability to deliver under pressure, even during public holidays. Our commitment to client satisfaction, quality work and proactive problem-solving was evident throughout, leading to a successful outcome that exceeded expectations. Lumico Solar was able to meet their deadline and the load testing was executed efficiently, ensuring the structural integrity needed for the solar installation.

We bought a new home and the front fence and yard needed cleaning up with lots of concrete, trees and a brick fence that required removing, to install a higher fence for the dogs.

The thought of doing it all by hand over time was considered but a short google showed excavation just up the road. We gave Louie a call along with a couple other companies, but Louie was the only one who seemed to care about my issue and came out to the property to have a look at the job within the next day or so. A quote was sent through and we booked a date to get into it. Job was quoted to take a full day.

On the day it ended up being 6hrs from start to finish, with nothing being an issue for Louie to sort out. We now have a blank canvass out the front to work with and we will call Louie again in the new year to prep for turf laying once the fences are built.
